Ngopi-Yamcha The firing of Noonday Gun by Jardines is a tradition that every noon time as a time signal for Hong Kong and at midnight on New Year's Eve to welcome the New Year.

The Noonday Gun is located at East Point of Causeway Bay District, Hong Kong, after headquarters of Jardines was moved from Macau to this site of Hong Kong in 1844.

"When the gun is fired eight bells are sounded signalling the end of the fore-noon watch. This practice dates from the time when Jardines had its main offices and warehouses at East Point."
