Old Mental Hospital

The building of Old Mental Hospital was constructed in 1892 as quarters for the European nursing staff of the Civil Hospital.

After World War ll, was converted into a mental hospital until 1961 and was subsequently used as a day treatment centre for psychiatric out-patients till 1971.

Since then had been left vacant till the Government decided in 1990s to keep the facade and rebuild a community centre within.

The huge building with more than a hundred year history was once a mental hospital, so easy to understand that why so many ghost stories come out from there as became a famous "GHOST HOUSE".
